This summer, I had the joy of photographing an anniversary session that felt equal parts playful, heartfelt, and beautifully intentional. Grace and Ty were celebrating their first year together, and they wanted photos that reflected the easy, joy-filled energy of their relationship. From the very beginning, it was clear this would be a session worth remembering.
We spent the afternoon exploring quiet pockets of nature, finding spaces that offered calm, warmth, and room to move freely. Soft greenery, open sunlight, and peaceful water created a backdrop that let their connection take center stage. Grace and Ty settled into the environment with ease, fully present with one another.
To honor their anniversary in a way that felt lighthearted, I brought along sparkling cider. A champagne-style spray was the perfect touch. Their laughter as the bottle popped was pure joy—playful, unposed, and exactly the kind of memory you want to hold onto long after the moment ends.
As the sun began to lower, the light softened beautifully. We wandered closer to the water, where Grace and Ty kicked off their shoes and splashed along the shoreline. They didn’t hesitate to be fully themselves—laughing, playing, and letting the moment guide them. These spontaneous moments became some of my favorites from the session.
What stood out most was the comfort they shared. Their ease with each other made every frame feel honest and unforced. This anniversary session was more than a photoshoot. It was a celebration of their first year of love, filled with warmth, movement, and genuine connection.
Anniversary sessions like this one are such a gift. They capture not just a milestone, but the emotion, energy, and beauty woven into everyday love. Grace and Ty’s celebration of year one was joyful, tender, and rooted in the kind of connection that makes storytelling feel effortless.
Here’s to the moments worth remembering and the stories that deserve to be told with warmth and care.
